Opened in 1998, the museum is located in the stables and in the servants rooms of the ancient and noble Palazzo Briganti in the center of Parabita.
The different environments tell the family sphere, both agricultural and artisan work, for a total of 8 adjoining rooms.
On the ground floor, in the stables and in the servants rooms, the working tools are well organized and displayed, everyday objects and tools reflecting the performance of traditional life. In the first rooms, dedicated to agricultural work, plows, capacity measures, weigh batching, honey extractors, beehives and tauleddhre are exhibited, in the weaving room an old loom is exposed along with sewing machines, combs, spindles and macinule.
One room is finally dedicated to the collection of information on the history of the territory of Parabita, reconstructed through plants, photos, drawings and reproductions.
The "Documentation Center" and the "Center of prehistoric studies" are also part of the Museum.
