On your arrival at the Stanzie through a dirt road, you are immediately immersed in a piece of history of Salento.
The farm is in fact made up of a sixteenth-century rural farmhouse among the oldest in the Salento area, which is the setting of the lush greenhouse of Supersano.
The Stanzie takes its name from an ancient Roman "statio", as it is located in the middle of an important crossroads between the '"old oil road" linking the port of Otranto to that of Gallipoli and the "the pilgrims way" , the Christians route going on a pilgrimages from St. Michael Garganico to Santa Maria di Leuca.
The restaurant serves the typical home -made "poor" products, mostly of them grown by the same company: from the mashed broad beans to the chunks of horse meat, from grilled vegetables to pittule.
In the summer you can eat outside "al fresco" in the lovely courtyard under the roof and the lovely starry sky of Salento. Do not miss the chance to visit the oil mills and the entire structure with an experienced guide. But, as the name might be misleading, there are no rooms for overnight stays.
