Description

The Museum of rural life in Torrepaduli was inaugurated in 2002 in the eighteenth century Palazzo Pasanisi.

Along the way, you can have the chance to discover the ways, customs and agricultural traditions that still retain intact all their charm-nature relationship work, tiring and as old as human history.
We can find, arranged in the furnishings and artifacts, the atmosphere of the daily life within the ancient families of that days.

As the result of multi-years commitment of the Elderly Association Ettore Pasanisi, the Museum is not only a place for conservation, but also a place for cultural events and shows. Every year, in fact, is hold a typical nativity scene.

The Museum of Torrepaduli consists of 10 rooms.

In some of them has been respected the original destination, while others have been renovated according to the laboratories.

You can admire tools, toys and other objects, capable to revive a distant past but still incredibly current.

In addition to being a place of conservation and valorization, the Museum plays an educational role through targeted laboratory activities, which are within the knowledge of the various aspects of rural life.
The Museum collaborates and implements synergistic actions with the realities in the area, promoting and raising awareness about the sustainable use of natural resources and it is also responsible for promoting cultural and scientific dissemination.

All this with the aim of increasing the sense of belonging to the land, to foster an awareness of the environmental and cultural values of the land and to develop territorial and extraterritorial socialization, capturing some aspects of their environment by comparing them with the life-style of the peasants of the past.
