Salento Bici Tour - Cycle tourism

Salento Bike Tour is an Association of Social Promotion and the idea was born in 2011 from the passion of two young local men.

We want to contribute to the spread of the bicycle as a means of locomotion, develop cycling in Salento, stimulate a critical knowledge of the territory and the landscape, support and give visibility to local virtuous businesses.

We work with governments, local authorities, schools, projects on sustainable mobility.

We organize guided bike tours (daily, weekend, weekly) to savor slowly and with all your senses - even those prohibited; Salento even in its most hidden corners.

More generally, we do promote a style of life centered on the reduction of consumption of energy and not only to curb excessive use of the automobile, the injuries to the landscape, the productivist philosophies that damage the environment and people health: We do believe that the bicycle is one of the many keys that will open the doors to a wiser and fairer world, more aware of the limit.

We offer visitors and resident population as well the opportunity to cross the territory slowly, at the pace dictated by their own strength, to know and rediscover it: too many important things escape in the closed passenger compartment of a car, to the nose, the eyes and ears ... Our ambition is to give you this back!

Salento Bike Tour - from spring to autumn 2013 in collaboration with "Solo Vento Vacanze - Albe d'est" and "Holitime", propose some pleasant bike weekend in Salento.

The main cities of art and sea of Salento are the starting point for excursions to discover the most beautiful natural places on the coast and inland, and the excellences of the various aspects of local culture and handicrafts.

The length of journeys by bicycle can vary from 20 to 40 km: a distance which, spread over an entire day, and thanks to the many stops, it can also be addressed by those who are not accustomed to this type of training.

Salento Bike Tours offers daily tours within the Salento area. Each excursion touches points of historical, natural and eno-gastronomic interest, leveraging the network of secondary roads, away from heavy traffic.

The length of the route is between 25 and 40 miles, a distance within the reach of all. The gait will be slow and relaxing, and in any case, adapted to the needs of the group. Usually it is followed the pace of the slowest person.
